Hard Water, Descaling, and Water Quality for Ramen Station Operators

Minerals in water can collect inside heated water systems. The rate depends on the local water supply, filtration, temperature, and machine usage. Hard-water locations generally need more frequent inspection and descaling than locations with softer water.

Signs That Scale May Be Building Up

• Slower water flow
• Changes in dispensing accuracy
• Visible white mineral residue
• Longer heating or inconsistent water delivery
• More frequent water-system errors

Use Suitable Source Water

Use potable water. The maximum recommended input-water temperature is 70°C / 158°F. The machine uses an external container or direct water-line connection, depending on the setup.

• Keep the water container covered and clean
• Inspect tubing for kinks or contamination
• Use the stainless filter when the source water contains sediment
• Consider appropriate treatment when local hardness is high

Current Manual Descaling Process

The current manual process takes about 30 minutes. It uses approximately 1.5 liters of prepared citric-acid solution and a receiving container with at least 4 liters of capacity. The exact concentration, steps, and rinse cycle should follow the current instructions supplied by NEO CUCINA Support.

1. Confirm the procedure applies to the device batch.
2. Prepare the solution and receiving container.
3. Run the instructed cleaning and water-circulation steps.
4. Rinse the system thoroughly with clean water.
5. Confirm normal water flow before returning the unit to service.

Important Note for Early Units

Some early units should not be tested with an unfamiliar on-screen decalcification function because the control-board procedure changed between batches. Contact Support with the device number before attempting that function.

How Often Should You Descale?

There is no single schedule for every operator. Set the interval using local hardness, usage, visible scale, and flow performance. Record each service date so the interval can be adjusted based on actual conditions.
